I’m biased obviously because I live in Kits. Vancouver Magazine isn’t as biased and ranked False Creek as the number 1 neighbourhood in town in 2016. So it’s not too shabby.
False Creek started as in Industrial and Commercial hub for Vancouver. Forty years ago City Planners and Politicians had an idea that they wanted to test out in False Creek South. Build a community of mixed income, residential, people friendly, retail and abundant green spaces. A perfect recipe for a fabulous community within a stone’s throw of downtown Vancouver, or perhaps a False Creek ferry ride would be more appropriate.
This Community is ranked as one of the most environmentally friendly areas in the City. Why, well you don’t need a car in this neighbourhood and most residents agree. The False Creek Ferry, the Seawall, running and bike paths, all conveniently located at your doorstep.
You have easy access to the Granville Island Public Market for fresh seafood, produce and many fine treats. You also have within walking distance, Whole Foods and other large retailers just up the street if you need to do some shopping. Not feeling like cooking tonight, well, options abound. How about the Vancouver Fish Company for some fresh seafood, feeling like caviar and a view, perhaps Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio then. Something sweet ? How about Lee’s Donut’s on Johnston Street. The choices are too numerous to list here but trust us, you won’t run out of new options.
If you like to be active and accessibility is important, this would be the neighbourhood. Come for a visit and see what you think. If you decide to stay give us a call !!
