So you are thinking of selling! I’ve used Realtors to sell my homes before as well. Coming from a Technology background I was always surprised at the lack of technology utilized when it comes to Real Estate. I guess the industry is a late adopter!
Tomas and I both worked in the Technology Industry for a long time. When we started in Real Estate we saw an opportunity that wasn’t being used, yes, technology!
I didn’t think that throwing a sign on the lawn and taking some pictures was enough. In the Toronto market, the Real Estate Commission is 5%. That’s a lot of money to spend on a sign on your front lawn. The BC rate is about 65% of Ontario. It’s a more realistic number for the sale of your home.
What if we could market that property to a larger group of qualified buyers? What would happen then? We can do this by using the tools that we utilize. Video, online marketing, using our tricks of the trade that most Realtors don’t want to spend $$’s on.
What happens is your property sells fast, for top dollar. We also utilize home staging in the selling process. Why not use all the tools available. We do, we have, and we will.

Open houses are really a tool that Realtors use to market themselves. Same with the sign on the lawn. We spend our time and money on our clients and their properties. That’s where your Realtor needs to focus his/her marketing efforts, not on self-promotion.
