I think I’ve always had a fascination with water. At a young age our family would spend our summers at Wymbolwood Beach in Ontario. We had a cottage there, about 90 minutes north of Toronto. My earliest memories are playing in the sand, swimming, having a blast.
Fast forward, then the University years came. Reading week for my sons meant studying for exams, and preparing to go back to school. For me, it meant something else 😉 The middle of February, bitterly cold weather in Toronto. Reading week really meant hoping on a plane and heading south. You know, ocean, beach, warm weather 🏖️ Not much reading was done…
You might be noticing a trend. One year it was Barbados, another year it was the Dominican, another year it was Colombia. Sadly my travelling buddy for those trips left us, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer out of the blue, it was a very sad year.
In memory of my good friend Wayne, let me bring you some listings that he would also appreciate from around the globe. Yes, you guessed it. Water views will be front and center in these listings.
If you’ve never been to Australia, you should go! Sydney harbour challenges Vancouver for bragging rights when it comes to ocean views. When you have a country like Australia, surrounded by the ocean, with beaches everywhere, that sounds like a great place to visit. I did, and I really need to go back. Check out this listing. Let’s head north for my 2nd selection. Before I arrived in Australia I spent some time travelling through Thailand. I was lucky to have a week in Patong Beach in Phuket! It had the ocean, and it had an amazing beach, incredible views, and the food!

This amazing property almost looks like the one above. Close, but not quite. This house is located in another amazing country I visited, Indonesia. You have probably heard of the magical island of Bali. That is where you will find this house.
I think the chair at the end might be where I end up. That’s the plan anyways. Indonesia is an amazing country with incredibly friendly people. Add it to your list if you haven’t made the trip yet. Post Covid of course. Hopefully that will be very soon.
