Thinking about skiing in Vancouver? Cypress Mountain, Grouse Mountain, and Seymour are all popular ski destinations in the Vancouver area, each with their own unique features and amenities.
Keep in mind, that during the winter season, from Oct 1st to March 31st, all cars require winter tires. Or, you can take a Taxi, an Uber, or one of the car-share options located around the city.
Let’s start with Cypress in West Vancouver. The physical address is 6000 Cypress Bowl Road in West Vancouver. Just follow Highway 99 west towards Horseshoe Bay and take the Cypress Bowl exit. It’s about 30 km from downtown, 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.
Cypress Mountain is located in West Vancouver and offers a wide range of ski and snowboard terrain for all abilities. Let’s give you some stats!

Cypress is known for its well-groomed runs, night skiing, and snowmaking. In the winter you can choose from a variety of activities.

Cypress Mountain also offers ski and snowboard lessons, rental equipment, and a variety of dining and aprรจs-ski options. In the summer Cypress is best known for access to some of the best hikes in and around Vancouver.
The favourites are Saint Marks Summit via Howe Sound Crest Trail, a 12.2km hike, rated as moderate, but, it will provide you with a good workout and a fabulous view of Howe Sound at the end of your moderate hike!
Next up, if you’re not too tired is Eagleridge Bluffs via Black Mountain Trail. A 8.2 km hike, again rated at moderate. If you are from BC they are moderate, if you are from back east, well, carry that oxygen tank. Best to carry some water with you as well, and start early on the weekends to avoid heavy traffic.

Let’s move east to Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. The physical address is 6400 Nancy Greene Way.
Grouse Mountain is located in North Vancouver and is known for its spectacular views of the city and its varied terrain. Let’s give. you some stats:

- 6 terrain parks
To get access to Grouse Mountain, you have to purchase a Skyride ticket. That in itself is a reason to come to Grouse Mountain. Spectacular views of the City of Vancouver on a clear day make this one of the top attractions for tourists when they come to town in winter or summer.
What if you don’t ski, what can I do on Grouse? Well, they have lots of activities at the top of the mountain for visitors. You can do the Light Walk, or bring your skates, Grouse is home to an 8,000 square foot outdoor ice skating pond. If that doesn’t interest you, maybe strap on the snowshoes and go for a walk on one of their 4 trails.
In the off season, you can test your fitness level and tackle the Grouse Grind, and yes it’s called the Grind for a reason. Once you get to the top, you can head out on a variety of trails, or just take a break and have a nice lunch or dinner at Altitudes bistro. But don’t forget to visit the Grizzly Bear habitat, or perhaps after lunch do the Mountain Ropes Adventure – climbing, swinging, and zip lining through the forest. So many options to choose from, have fun!

Let’s continue further east to Mt. Seymour in North Vancouver. The address is 1700 Mount Seymour Road, North Vancouver.
